“We are the Heart Of San Diego” is the motto that greets visitors to the new location of Cardiovascular Institute of San Diego and San Diego Vein Specialists, at 488 East Valley Parkway, which celebrated a ribbon-cutting Friday afternoon, attended by staffers, well-wishers and members of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce.
Linda Sallee, senior administrator described how the institute purchased the right to use that slogan from the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego.
“Here we have two masters. We are not only cardiology we are vein specialists as well,” she said.
They have two main procedure rooms. In one room they do vein ablation treatment that helps varicose veins. In another room they do revascularization procedures to restore blood flow.
“This is for patients that are not getting great circulation,” said Sallee. “What this does is it revascularizes blood flow to the heart. When physicians no longer want to do procedures on veins that they feel are not thriving, we have this lovely therapy that revascularizes vein blood flow to the heart.” She added, “He is ready to handle a lot of patients here.”
Although they are fully open for in-personal medical visits, “we are still doing some telemedicine,” said Sallee. “We are brand new. We started seeing patients May 3.”
She showed another room where they do cardiac stress tests for patients, one the more strenuous stress test for younger patients, and another called a “nuclear stress test,” which uses radioactive dye and an imaging machine and which is done at their San Marcos office.
Services offered include: atrial fibrillation and stroke prevention management, heart failure treatment, vein and leg treatments, prevention of heart and vascular disease, hypertension and lipid management, state of the art diagnostic testing, VIP executive screening and telemedicine, electrophysiology, pacemaker and defibrillation.
