The Escondido History Center has contributed $3,050 toward the cost of the new play equipment installed at Grape Day Park in the fall of last year.
The new play equipment is one of the first phases of a multi-phase plan to expand and improve Grape Day Park.
Stacey Ellison, executive director of the History Center, told The Times-Advocate: “We did some fundraising back in 2010 to help build a playground in the park. The City ended up installing the playground so we just contributed to the overall cost – offset it just a little. We worked with [Assistant City Manager] Jay Petrek to get it all worked out. Good man. We were happy to help.”
