The 413 Project Theater will open Ken Ludwig’s “The Game’s Afoot” February 7 – 23, at the Grand Tea Room in Escondido.
Ludwig’s story revolves around the real life Sherlock Holmes – actor William Gillette. It is December 1926, and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play “Sherlock Holmes”, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when star theater reporter Daria Chase is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous.
The 413 production will feature a full cast of professional San Diego actors, beautiful costumes, and an immersive dining experience. All general admissions will include a full English high-tea meal, which includes a themed “murder menu” with seasonal salad, sandwiches, assorted desserts, fresh-baked scones with clotted cream, lemon curd and jam, and of course, unlimited, loose leaf tea.
All performances will be performed at the Grand Tea Room, a full service tea parlor and restaurant located in downtown historic Escondido. General Admission is $69.00. Reserved Admission is $89.00 and includes reserved seating and a show themed gift. Shows will run February 7 – 23, with performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit: www.the413project.org or call 619-786-7248.
