Friday afternoon, Tristan Teng, a high school senior at Heritage Christian School in Escondido, presented gifts to Escondido Police Department officers as part of his community service project.
He presented 70 gift bags, containing food items and store coupons, to the officers in the Patrol Division. Tristan told The Times-Advocate, “The police officers were extremely grateful. Those working in law enforcement are often the unsung heroes, and it is so easy to take for granted the sacrifices they make every single day to ensure the safety of our local community. It is imperative that we honor and appreciate our police officers as well as thank them for their work.”
When receiving the gifts, Lieutenant Craig Miller–head of the Patrol Division–remarked that it was encouraging to know that people appreciated their service.
Tristan thanked his sponsor Grocery Outlet, Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Major Market, Jimbo’s, Rawlins Law, and Trader Joe’s.
