It has been nearly two years since historic downtown Escondido’s Grand Avenue was teeming with people, vendor booths, community performers, and the smells of kettle corn and barbeque were wafting through the air. Ah, the sights, sounds, and smells of Americana…they’re back…and all will be evident and abundant at the Grand Avenue Festival taking place on Sunday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Last taking place in October of 2019 due to the pandemic, the event will feature the same layout design that places all the street vendor booths along the center of Grand Avenue, so the storefronts of our vibrant downtown businesses will be easily seen and accessed by attendees.
As usual, you will be able to shop from hundreds of vendors for unique hand-crafted gifts and imports, enjoy international cuisine and local music and entertainment at the Maple Street Community Stage and the Gazebo at Heritage Garden.
However, there are some changes this year. First off, the footprint has been condensed with Grand Avenue being closed from Escondido Boulevard to Ivy this time around. An exciting addition to this year’s festivities is a Beer & Wine Garden at Maple & Grand that will feature local craft beers and regional wines.
And there’s more…Such as the Creative Kids Corner @ Juniper & Grand that will feature Robotic Team Demonstrations from local High Schools, and the ever-popular Art in The Garden at Heritage Garden.
It has been a long-time coming, but it is almost here so make plans with your friends, family, neighbors, and others to attend one of the best local events here in Escondido on the 17th where there is something for everyone…the Grand Avenue Festival!
