Go2Grow is a non-profit program based in Escondido providing mentoring for teens to develop goals and plans for success.
It will host its 3rd Annual Masquerade Charade outreach event and fundraiser September 24, 5 pm. in Escondido at the clubhouse, 157 E. Valley Pkwy. Ste. 103.
The program is soliciting donations of auction items and sponsorships for the event, which is expected to draw over 150 guests. Participating businesses will be prominently featured leading up to the event through social media and at the event itself.
According to Elana Karoly, founder and CEO of Go2Grow, “We will be holding a live and silent auction filled with generously donated gifts as part of our fundraising effort. There are also awesome sponsorship opportunities with great exposure, if a monetary donation fits better into your charitable budget.”
All proceeds raised from this event will go directly to benefit Go2Grow Teen Center.
The program is approaching its five- year anniversary and is raising scholarship dollars for students who would like to be involved in its one-on-one mentorship program.
According to Karoly, “Most teens go through high school confused about their opportunities for the future and unsure of how to pursue their goals. Our mentorship and career-counseling program helps our students create plans for their future and then achieve them by walking them through goal-setting activities, helping them identify their values, and empowering them to take the first steps toward seeing their dreams become reality.
“We also provide life skills to our juniors and seniors to help them prepare for life after high school.”
Go2Grow creates a different life approach for today’s teens, ages 12-18. The goal is to help teens build a passion for a career path they pick, even if they have to pick a few to get on the right one.
Every student has a path, college-bound or not. The mentors hope to inspire and motivate students to pursue their dreams. Go2Grow’s teen center is providing students a safe place to grow themselves, alongside their friends. It creates a place for teens to learn about themselves and how their skills, interests, and values relate to a career field.
It connects students and professionals in a monitored setting, allowing them to discover resources in the community to gain new experiences and understanding of their opportunities in life. It implants in students the importance of volunteerism and community involvement. It helps students build habits of success through one-on-one mentorship and guide them through the process of entering into adulthood, while giving them the accountability needed to pursue their goals & plans for the future. It provides the personal development side of growth, without the pressure of results.
Entirely run by volunteers and funded by community partners, Go2Grow must raise $2,000 every month to stay open.
Donations, including sponsorships and/ or auction items, are tax deductible. Auction donations can be something as simple as a gift certificate to your business or an item that you think someone would find valuable.
Sponsorships range from $1,500 for Masquerade Title Sponsors to $150 for table sponsors and $25-$75 for swag bag sponsors.
They accept checks, or payments through their website.
