Georgia’s School of Dance is marking its 65th year in downtown Escondido, with much to celebrate.
First up is a rummage sale fundraiser for the award-winning competition team. The team features dancers who attend numerous local schools, including San Pasqual High School, Bear Valley Middle School, and Classical Academy.
The rummage sale is scheduled for 7 a.m. to noon Sunday, November 5, at Georgia’s, 142 E. Grand Ave. Items for sale will include clothing, books, household goods, and more. All proceeds will go to support dancers performing in regional competitions.
Georgia’s also is celebrating the success of two of its dancers in the first “Escondido’s Got Talent Show,” presented by Escondido Shines and Patio Playhouse. Leilani Smith and Sam Price took first place overall in the show for their musical theatre dance “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
The dance school will hold its anniversary celebration June 22 and June 23 at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. All alumni are encouraged to contact the school to get participate and may contact the school at firstname.lastname@example.org or 760-745-6662.
