Fun run will help fight human trafficking

A teenage volunteer at Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), Samantha Snodgrass has put together a Fun-Run/Walk to help fight human sex-trafficking.  OUR. is dedicated to rescuing children who have fallen victim to human sex-trafficking and prosecutes their traffickers all around the world.  Once rescued, OUR finds a secure safehouse where they have the opportunity for rehabilitation and learn life-skills to help them thrive in the world.

The purpose of the Fun-Run/Walk is to bring awareness to this terrible epidemic and raise money to help fight the cause.  It will be held May 18 at Kit Carson Park.  Registration will be from 7-7:30 a.m. and the run/walk will begin at 8 a.m.

On that day, OUR volunteers will also be collecting brand new items for “Go Bags.”  “Go Bags” are readily available to local law enforcement and given to those who are immediately rescued from sex-trafficking and contain basic items such as clothing, toiletries, and other necessities that may provide a bit of comfort.
