Valley Center Republican Women Federated have reserved the Escondido Fish & Game Firing Center for October 21 to hold a day of fire arm instruction. Women On Target (WOT), a program offered by the National Rifle Association (NRA) is a fire arm safety education program designed specifically for women. The program creates opportunities for women to learn all about firearms and gain confidence in newly acquired shooting skills. Participants receive individual attention from an NRA certified instructor on safe firearm handling, how to store firearms safely and learn to shoot both pistols and rifles. Ninety percent of all homes that have firearms are decided on by women.

There are spots for 25 participants. The program starts at 8:30am with a light breakfast, a break for lunch (which is also provided) and finishes around 2:30pm. Cost to participate is $30. This is the second time VCRWF have sponsored a women’s fire arm training. The last time VCRWF offered a WOT program it was so well received there was a waiting list. If you are interested in participating it is suggested you sign up and pay for your spot now to ensure a place on the firing line. Dee Harmes is accepting reservations now and can be reached at 760-749-6555 or ValleyCenterRWF@CFRW.org. VCRWF meet the first Thursday of every month, 6:30pm at the Community Center.

The right to own a firearm is uniquely American and is protected by the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Exercise your right to bear arms!
