Escondido to host ABC LEAD training

In partnership with the North Inland Community Prevention Program, the City of Escondido will host an ABC LEAD training class on Friday, July 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The class will be held at Escondido City Hall, Mitchell Room, .at 201 N. Broadway, Escondido.

L.E.A.D. stands for Licensee Educa­tion on Alcohol and Drugs. The LEAD program provides the alcohol beverage licensee and licensee applicants with practical information on serving alco­holic beverages safely, responsibly, and legally, and preventing illicit drug activ­ity at the licensed establishment.

The program is operated by the Cali­fornia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) and is a free, voluntary prevention and education program for retail alcohol beverage licensees, their employees and licensee applicants. Benefits of the training include; reduced risk of liability (including criminal, civ­il, and administrative), possible reduced insurance premiums, and provides ways to deal with difficult situations.
