Escondido speaker performs double duty at piano festival

On July 13-14, professional speaker and Escondido resident, Edna Nerona, served as Festival Master of Ceremonies during the San Diego International Piano Competition and Festival for Outstanding Amateurs held at the brand new Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in La Jolla, California (ljms.org/the-conrad/).

Glenn Kramer, accomplished pianist and founder of Amateur Pianists (amateurpianists.org/) praised Nerona, “She announced 24 pianists to the stage with aplomb and professionalism. What stands Edna apart was her ability to adapt to impromptu and last-minute schedule changes, as well as adding humor to her speech introductions.”

Nerona also performed during the event as one of the pianists in the festival program. She played Béla Bartók ‘s Romania dances.

“It was hard work serving the festival in two roles, “ added Nerona, but sharing music and serving as a guide of the program was fun and very fulfilling!”
