Rincón Literario (The Literary Corner), Escondido Public Library’s Bilingual Book Discussion Group, will meet on Saturday, October 21, from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. in the Turrentine Room.
This month’s selection is “Un monstruo viene a verme/A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.” Copies of the book are available for check-out in English and Spanish, and in a variety of formats, including print and eBook, and can be reserved at library.escondido.org.
Ever since his mom started treatment for a terminal illness, Connor has been having nightmares about a monster. A monster ultimately appears outside his room one night, but this one is different from the one in his dreams. Although its methods are unconventional, the monster is here to teach Connor about himself, grief and the process of dying.
Rincón Literario will continue on Saturday, November 18, discussing the 2017 One Book, One San Diego title “The Sandcastle Girls” by Chris Bohjalian. For more
