The Escondido Public Library has a multitude of resources to help students with their homework.
But first you need to get a library card.
You can get an online services card to access resources from home.
Better yet, visit the library and get a full service card to check out other great resources, including books, DVDs, and more. A parent or guardian signature is required for minors.
You can use the library’s online homework tools to search for newspaper and magazine articles, images, maps, biographical information, and science project ideas.
Student can also search for a favorite book or author and get recommendations of books you might like. Read expert reviews and first chapters. (Your library card number is needed if using outside the library.)
You can also use a computer at the library. Computers are available for children with some set aside for homework use only. • Get access to the Internet and Microsoft Office software (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) • Print in black & white for 15 cents a page and color for 75 cents a page. • Computers for fun and games can also be accessed with a library card.
The library staff is also available to find information and materials for homework assignments. They can also help to you how to use online homework resources and find a good book for homework or leisure reading.
Other fun activities for school age children include the following: • Improve reading skills by reading to a bearded dragon at Read to a Dragon or therapy dog at Paws for Reading. • Discuss books and enjoy crafts at the R.E.A.D. Middle Grade Book Club. • Learn how to play or improve your skills at Knights Realm Chess Club. • Some programs require registration.
