Local Students Graduate from USD

  • Consuelo Araujo of Escondido graduated from the University of San Diego for the 2019-2020 school year. Araujo earned a bachelor’s degree in History.
  • Julianne De Armas of Escondido graduated from the University of San Diego for the 2019-2020 school year. De Armas earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing.
  • Mary De Wolff of Escondido  graduated from the University of San Diego for the 2019-2020 school year. De Wolff earned a bachelor’s degree in French. De Wolff graduated magna cum laude
  • Vincent Graziano of Escondido  graduated from the University of San Diego for the 2019-2020 school year. Graziano earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Communication Studies. Graziano graduated magna cum laude

News from The University of Alabama

The University of Alabama awarded some 6,326 degrees this spring. Among the graduates was Jack Trimm of Escondido, who received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration.

News from Grove City College

Maggie Troxel, a Nursing major at Grove City College from Escondido, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2020 semester. Troxel is a 2019 graduate of Timothy Christian High School and is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Craig Troxel (Carolyn) of Escondido.

Students eligible for the Dean’s List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean’s List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the Dean’s List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Jeanette Gillie Graduates from Bowdoin College

During on online celebration of Bowdoin College’s Class of 2020, held May 23, bachelor of arts degrees were awarded to about 473 students from 43 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and 32 other countries and territories. Jeanette Gillie, of Escondido, California (92026), graduated with a major in sociology.

The event was not a replacement for the traditional cap-and-gown Commencement that Bowdoin will hold on campus next May for the Class of 2020, but rather the first act, a way to recognize the achievements right now of an extraordinary group. 

Bowdoin College has been educating leaders on the coast of Maine since the dawn of the American republic. Founded in 1794, Bowdoin is a highly selective college of approximately 1,800 students of distinction from across America and around the world.
