Escondido Chocolate Festival “A Tasting Affair” will be held Saturday, February 10 from noon to 5 p.m. The event is put on by the Downtown Business Association.
The DBA is seeking at least 20 exclusive tasting locations to be featured this year. Plus sponsor donations of 350 chocolate samples, wine and beer to be featured in one of 20 plus exclusive tasting locations.
Festival attendees purchase a “Passport Ticket” which includes: 1.) Tasting Glass, 2.) Swag Bag to fill with goodies and marketing material provided by participating Grand Avenue Business Owners and Sponsors like you 3.) Tasting Map indicating the businesses participating as “Tasting Locations”.
Attendees obtain their passport at “Will Call” located on Maple Street Plaza, then stroll through Downtown Escondido, at their leisure, to each of the tasting locations to sample chocolate paired with either wine, beer or champagne.
Attendees must drink any alcoholic beverages prior to leaving each location. The benefit to this is that they can meander through and get familiar with you and each business while enjoying their chocolate adventure.
According to the DBA, the event sells out each year, days before it starts. It has a demographic of age 25-60 from Escondido and neighboring cities. They are happy, chocolate eating, wine and beer-drinking, local, business friendly, potential customers for Grand Avenue merchants.
