Escondido Arts Partnership scores new intern

The Escondido Arts Partnership/Escondido Municipal Gallery has brought onboard a new summer intern, Cole Preston.

Born and raised in Escondido, Preston is excited to be home for the summer after spending the last two years in Washington securing his BA in communications at St. Martin’s University. As social media director, Preston will work with Executive Director Chris Moates to expand awareness of the EAP through YouTube and other social media.

The Escondido Arts Partnership was established in 1995 as the arts agency for the city of Escondido. The EAP offers free ongoing arts education, monthly exhibitions with free entry, and performance space to approximately 2000 visitors a month. They created 2nd Saturday to unite all the downtown artists and galleries in one monthly event. They are also responsible for the Farmer’s Market, a California State Certified Farmer’s Market, held on Tuesdays in Heritage Garden Park in Escondido.

Preston has honed his filming skills while in Washington and was invited to show his MTMG mini documentary at a local film festival. With so many events and activities at the gallery, Preston will have ample opportunities for applying these skills and creating exciting videos for YouTube
