The annual Valley Center Summer Food Truck Festival (see main story, pg 10) has announced a line up of family-friendly entertainment. From 2 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, this popular event will be held under the trees at Bates Nut Farm. Last summer nearly 2,000 guests attended the festival, and this year the event organizers expect the turnout to exceed that figure.
In addition to the food, there will be entertainment throughout the day, making this a fun destination for families and friends. Live on the Cruise Party Stage from 4 – 7 p.m. is singer/ guitarist Red Lane. He adds his unique style to Texas Blues, Classic Rock and Country music.
Also performing will be singer/ songwriter Samaria Grace from 2 – 4 p.m. Guests 21 and over with valid ID can enjoycraft beers in the beer garden next to the stage. Kids will enjoy pony rides from Snow’s Pony Rides and the popular Kids Zone presented by Wow Factor Attractions, each for a small fee. Vendors will be on site with crafts, services and products. Festival-goers can shop the Bates retail store for nuts, dried fruit, candy, homemade fudge, snacks and bottled beverages. The Farmer’s Daughter boutique will also be open, featuring gifts, clothing and jewelry.
Bates Nut Farm is located 20 minutes east of I-15 through Escondido at 15954 Woods Valley Rd., Valley Center, CA 92082. Farm and Store hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, with extended hours during the Valley Center Summer Food Truck Festival. Entrance to the farm, festival and parking are free.
