EFP to host wildfire preparedness meetings in August

The Escondido Fire Department will host  three upcoming wildfire preparedness community meetings.

The meetings will be held at the following three times and locations. There is no need to RSVP. Just show up.

The meetings will be led by Escondido Fire Prevention staff and speakers include representatives from Escondido Police and Fire, San Diego County Sheriff, Cal Fire, SDGE, and Greater San Diego County Fire Safe Council.

Join representatives of the fire department as they lead  a community conversation about wildfire preparedness.

Fire Chief Rick Vogt told The Times-Advocate: “The wildfire preparedness meetings are an opportunity to hear from fire department, law enforcement, SDGE and Fire Safe Council representatives about the impact of wildfire on our community, how public safety and other agencies work together during wildfires, and most importantly, things everyone should know about being prepared. Attendees will learn about emergency notification, power shut offs during strong winds, and the “READY, SET GO!” plan for preparedness.”

The presentation is about an hour and there will be time for questions and discussion.
