Mrs. Payne was born in Escondido to Brenda Bishop Spare and Donald Spare on June 12, 1959. She graduated from Orange Glen High School in Escondido in 1977.  She married Michael D. All of us have at some time met an outgoing person that we immediately liked and were drawn to, and loved. Donna was that rare person. She was an incredibly giving and loving individual. She volunteered for countless organizations, including The Downey Rose Float Organization, Interfaith Action for the Aging, Musical Theater West, Long Beach Police K9 Corp, and after moving to Georgia in 2005, she helped at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and the Lions Club in Woodstock, Georgia.

Mrs. Payne is preceded in death by her grandfather, Henry Culp, her aunt Judy Bishop, and her wonderful mother, Brenda Spare.

Mrs. Payne is survived by her husband Michael and son Alex of Woodstock, Georgia; sisters Theresa Proia and Beverly Carr of Dover, New Hampshire; sister Rhonda Denton of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; cousin Joseph Bishop serving in the U.S. Navy in Naples, Italy, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Michael Payne wishes to extend his sincere thanks to the caregivers at the Casa de Retiro El Mirador, and especially Rosalba Gutierrez Ramirez of Tijuana, Mexico for her years of love and support for Donna.
