Divorce workshop to be held Oct. 20

The Second Saturday Divorce Workshop will launch October 20, at East Valley Community Center.

The workshops are Inspired by the Women’s Institute for Financial Education (Wife.org) with local financial experts, attorneys and divorce therapists uniting in helping women navigate the challenges of “untying the knot.”

Second Saturday was founded 25 years ago through the non-profit WIFE.org. The workshop has supported thousands of women navigate the devastating process of divorce. Second Saturday Divorce Workshops have cropped up around the country, and with over 50% of marriages ending in divorce, it is clear more help is needed.

In this same spirit, and with the permission from WIFE.org, Lisa Miller, certified divorce financial analyst has modeled the Escondido workshop after the original; addressing the legal, financial, and emotional issues of divorce in a logical and compassionate way. Lisa, along with a Family Law Attorney and Licensed Marriage Therapist will help participants gain a greater understanding of the divorce process in a way that can often save money, time and grief.

“Divorce is not easy,” she said. “and we are proud to affiliate with WIFE.org to provide this workshop. It’s an opportunity for women to acquire non-biased, straightforward information and options to help focus on what they need to do legally and financially through difficult times.
