Deadline Nears for Celebrate Grand Escondido Art Competition

The Escondido Art Association’s First Annual themed and juried 2-D art show designed to promote the pride and promise in the city of Escondido will be held at the Artists Gallery on 121 W. Grand Avenue, Escondido, from October 6 –30.

Deadline dates for drop-off of all artwork are as follows: Saturday & Sunday, October 3 & 4, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., or Monday, October 5 from 4– 6 p.m.

The EAA, a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization whose mission is to promote the arts in North County San Diego, invites artists of all ages, members and non-members alike, to participate. A total of $875 in prize money will be awarded in four categories, as well as free entries to future EAA art shows.

Local artist Michael Steirnagle will judge the show. The reception and awards ceremony, open to the public, will be held at the Artists Gallery on Second Saturday, October 10, from 5¬– 8 p.m. with the awards being presented at p.m. Refreshments will be served.
