The Palomar Health Foundation is offering community members the opportunity to honor family and friends by purchasing a permanent and personalized message-engraved brick to be placed in the Palomar Medical Center Escondido Jacobs and McCann Courtyard. Money raised from the brick fundraising campaign will go towards construction of the Physician Quarters and Conference Center of the Future.

Foundation board members, joined Palomar Health District board members and the Palomar Health leadership team on Monday, September 20 for an official groundbreaking ceremony where Foundation Board Member and Chairman for the Conference Center and Physician Quarters project Tom Oeschger expressed why he made a significant monetary contribution to the project.

“I got involved with the project because I have been so impressed with the outstanding care I and my family have received at Palomar Medical Center Escondido,” said Oeschger. “I have found contributing to this campaign is a great way to honor my parents, thank physicians and improve healthcare for the entire region.”

The Physician Quarters and Conference Center project includes 14 physician sleeping rooms with access to bathrooms and showers for physicians working 24 hour-plus shifts. Also included is a state-of-the-art conference center where training, education and collaboration between the region’s 22 hospitals can take place. These needs were highlighted during the pandemic.
