Construction to begin on Vista Verde Reservoir replacement project

Construction will soon begin on the city’s Vista Verde Reservoir replacement project. The Notice to Proceed was given on August 10, 2016 and construction is anticipated to be completed by August 10, 2018 (730 Calendar Days).

The project will cost $9.4 million.

This project is part of the City of Escondido’s Capital Improvements Program. Two new reservoirs will be constructed northwest of the Vista Verde Way cul-de-sac.

The existing steel reservoir located at the top of the hill off of Firethorn Glen in the gated community east of Vista Verde Way will be removed. The work includes new piping and electrical on the east side of Vista Verde Way between the City water pump station – which is located on the same street – and the cul-de-sac at the north end of the street.

Motorists and cyclists should expect some delays along Vista Verde Way. Residents of the neighborhood should also anticipate construction noise during the work hours, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. ¬– 4 pm. Motorists should observe warning signs, including No Parking signs, along the construction route and slow down while driving through the construction zone.
