Concert series to open with Sue Palmer and Motel Swing Orchestra Oct. 9



The Hidden Valley Community Concert Association, celebrating its 71st year in Escondido will kick off its new season with Sue Palmer And Her Motel Swing Orchestra on October 9, 2 p.m. at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

Sue Palmer and her group will be playing swing, blues, soul, jump, oldies, jazz , standards and more.

Palmer, a pianist from San Diego, known as the “Queen of Boogie Woogie,” has performed all over the United States and the world.

You can see all twelve of her CDs on her website: www.suepalmer.com. She will be bringing singers and dancers to “jump, jive and wail,” at the Center.

The rest of the season will include the following performances:

January 8, 2017 (2 p.m.) – Tina Chong – classical pianist, with guest trombonist, Logan Chopyk, who plays with the San Diego Symphony.

March 18, 2017 (2 p.m.)– Everything Fitz—The Fitzgerald Family – a band featuring step dancing and fiddling from the famous Ottawa Valley, Quebec.

May 7, 2017 (2 p.m.) – Karen and the Klassix – Karen Mitchell, female singer, does smooth, jazzy Italian and American standards and classics with a touch of western accompanied by the “Riders” band.
