Community in Unity will kick off city’s holiday season

The 8th Annual Community in Unity celebration is just around the corner on Thursday, November 29, and the Escondido Chamber of Commerce wants you to be there.

The event is presented by the Chamber at the City Hall Rotunda and Fountain area from 5:31 p.m. to 8 p.m. with local restaurants, wineries, distillers and craft breweries showcasing items from their menus. This is Escondido’s premier, seasonal Holiday event that officially kicks off the holidays in the Hidden Valley.

The exact time when the event begins is intentional: it can’t truly begin until city employees stop work at 5 p.m.

Entertainment from local musical groups representing Escondido will provide a truly festive atmosphere for all to enjoy. Guests are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys for The Escondido Police Athletic League’s annual Children’s Christmas party, and pajamas (all sizes, button-up preferred) for Rady Children’s Hospital.

Tickets are $25 per person, which can be bought on the Chamber’s website, and please keep in mind this is a 21 and over only event. For more information call 760.745.2125 or go to escondido.chambermaster.com/events/details/community-in-unity-4870 to purchase tickets.

Newland Sierra is sponsoring this event, which also wants to build hundreds of homes in fire-prone areas. Not sure if that’s a good idea!
