Broadway Escondido, CA 92025

Grape Day started in 1908 as a way to celebrate Escondido’s grape harvest and promote the city. It flourished until 1950 and was revived by the Escondido History Center in 1996. A section of the park will be reserved for an interactive arts experience where both kids and adults can talk to artisans and participate in activities ranging from pottery to archaeology! The kids will also enjoy a petting zoo, drawing contests, and demonstrations. Enjoy a beer and wine garden, sponsored by local wineries, while being entertained by dance groups, bands, and others. Watch talented dance groups “battle” for prizes and so much more! Our grape-themed festival would not be complete without a pie eating contest, the annual grape stomp, and an array of grape products ranging from grape jam to chocolate dipped grapes! Arts, crafts, food, beer, wine, entertainment, and much more is on the program for a fun family evening! Bring the whole family for a new and amazing day at Grape Day Discovery Festival! Please note… There will be a 5K Race, as usual, on the morning of the Festival. Please see below for more information about the race. There will not be a Parade this year. This event (past parade and festival portions) is presented by the Escondido History Center. For more information call 760-743-8207 or go to, escondidohistory.com.
