San Diego County’s Civic Youth Orchestra celebrates its 60th anniversary with a special concert performance at Escondido’s California Center for the Arts on Sunday, May 1 at 2 pm.,
The CYO of rising young musical stars will take to the Center Theater stage to perform a selection of uplifting classical works.
You’ll hear Dvorak’s cheery Bohemian-inspired Symphony No. 8 and Rimsky- Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol, which has its roots in Spanish folk melodies. The program also features the third movement of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, which is often considered one of the most technically difficult works for the violin.
This performance is sponsored by the Hidden Valley Community Concert Association, which is celebrating its 70th year. All seats are reserved and tickets are $10. They are available at www.artcenter.org or calling the CCAE box office at 800-988-4253.
