The internationally recognized USC Chamber Singers and Concert Choir, guest artists of the Escondido Choral Arts Foundation, will perform music in honor of the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare.
The concert will be held Sunday, October 23, 4 p.m. at the Center Theater of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
The Center Chorale, an endorsed choral ensemble of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, will join USC to perform the world premier of a new work written by Escondido composer and assistant conductor of The Center Chorale, Dr. Stephen Sturk.
Dr. Joe Stanford, the conductor of the Escondido Chorale, told The Times-Advocate: “Many, many years ago I was fortunate to be a member of the USC Chamber Singers under the leadership of Dr. Charles Hirt. It was a life changing experience for me to be a part of such a distinguished choral ensemble. The ensembles of USC have long been among the elite of choral singers in our country. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear choral music at its finest sung right here in our community!”
