The gorgeous backdrop, the perfect temperature and the aroma of barbecue greeted members and guests of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce Thursday at the Business After 5 Mixer. This month’s event took place on the peaceful grounds of the Escondido eQuestrian Center, where attendees were free to meet the horses, hike the property, eat hamburgers and hotdogs while standing at haystacks used as tables, and even making s’mores over an open fire.
As the sun began settling behind the mountains, GaryAdler, CEO of Pegasus
Rising, informed the group about Pegasus Rising — a volunteer organization that partners horses and humans for healing, especially vets who have suffered TBI (traumatic brain injury) and PTSD (post trauma stress disorder). They are deeply indebted to Escondido eQuestrian for providing them the space and are now actively recruiting volunteers. Should you love horses, people and being in nature, visit www.pegasusrising.org for more information.
