“Chamber Chatter”

As the current COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, with changes happening daily, the Escondido Chamber of Commerce has also continued to pivot and adapt to provide our members and the community with the resources they desperately need. With programs being developed and implemented to help businesses, both large and small, they come with lots of questions. You often need to be versed in legalese just to navigate the instructions to fill out the paperwork.

That is one of the ways the Chamber is here to help. In recent weeks we’ve held special Government Affairs and Economic Development meetings, virtually via Zoom, with representatives from the Small Business Administration, the City of Escondido, the Small Business Development Center, Senator Brian Jones, Supervisor Kristin Gaspar, and more. These meetings are recorded and full of valuable information, and can be viewed on the Chamber’s website at escondidochamber.org/virtual-zoom-meetings/

The Escondido Chamber of Commerce has many more informative meetings planned for  May, they are free, and the public is welcome to join to learn how to navigate these unprecedented times.

If you are a parent and currently homeschooling, you will want to attend May’s Education meeting as the Chamber will welcome Dr. Luis Rankins-Ibarra, Superintendent EUSD, and Dr. Anne Staffieri, Superintendent EUHSD. Together they will be giving an overview and discussing the topic “Distance Learning – School Districts Navigating the Challenges of COVID-19.” They’ll be able to give updates on the current changes affecting all students and parents, and talk about what the future holds for our present education models. You can register to attend this event here: escondido.chambermaster.com/events/details/education-committee-05-11-2020-4344

Finally, we’d like to say that the Escondido Chamber of Commerce has been around since before the Spanish Flu, we survived that…and so did our members and our community. Being that old, we have a lot of what they say might be experience. Or Patina. Or stamina. Maybe it’s all of the three, but one thing is for sure — we’re going to survive this pandemic…and so will our members and our community!

Be safe, stay informed, and look to your Escondido Chamber of Commerce for guidance…then, now, and in the future! #EscodidoStrong
