The first annual exhibition and competition, “Remembering 9/11” art competition invites artists “to share their reflections of September 11, 2001.” The art competition is in conjunction with the “9/11 Remembrance Ceremony” in Fallbrook.
The exhibition will be held at Brandon Gallery in Fallbrook from September 2 – 30. The community will judge the artwork. The “People’s Choice Award” can be voted on September 2–9 at the gallery. A reception will be held on Sunday, September 11 hosted by the Fallbrook Senior Center. The winners will be announced and awards will be presented at that time.
The competition is open to everyone. The work may be created in any medium. Two-dimensional work may be no larger than 30 inches on any side, including frame, and weigh no more than 20-lbs. Wire hangers only, with ends wrapped for safety. Three-dimensional work may be no larger than 12 inches on any side, weigh no more than 20-lbs. and must have a stable base when set on a flat surface. Entry fee $20 for one entry, $10 for second entry.
The awards are: First place – $150; 2nd Place, – $100; and 3rd Place – $75. Artwork must be delivered to Brandon Gallery on Friday, August 26 or Saturday, August 27th between the hours of 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Brandon Gallery is located at 105 N. Main Avenue.
