California Pizza Kitchen had its official ribbon cutting and ceremonial pizza slicing on Monday morning, November 28 at their new location in the Westfield North County Mall in Escondido.
This is the first California Pizza Kitchen opened in North County in the past 10 years. Mayor Sam Abed, Assistant City Manager Jay Pertek, City Attorney Jeff Epp, and Chamber of Commerce members were there to participate in the Grand Opening.
CPK Chief Executive Officer G. J. Hart, Vice President West Coast Operations Jon Hook, Regional Partner Joe Kopke, General Manager Jose Aleman and Manager Cheryl Klewickitook part in an energetic display of pizza tossing and food and beverage tastings with their friendly and well-trained crew of chefs and servers.
Located inside the mall on the first floor across from Target, the California Pizza Kitchen is a creative, unique addition to North County dining.
The decor is casual and cool with three innovative seating areas. There is an open feel bar area in the mall space, booths and dining tables with upholstered banquettes complete with cushions in the restaurant and outdoor patio dining on the east entrance.
While pizza is their middle name,California Pizza Kitchen has so much more. Steak, seafood, pasta menu items are prepared with innovative flavor combinations and presentation.
The restaurant features an open kitchen centered around an open hearth pizza oven where guests can watch their meal be prepared fresh from scratch every day. Complementing your meal are a variety of beverages from craft cocktails, local craft beers, sangria and over 30 wines by the glass. There are also non-alcoholic beverages like the Strawberry Mango Cooler.
