At three grand openings last week, including one in Escondido, furniture retailer Bob’s Discount Furniture gave a $72,000 donation to the Special Olympics plus $15,000 to local schools.
These funds were raised as part of the company’s first quarter “Café Collection for a Cause,” one of the many community outreach initiatives the company has committed to since entering the market.
Brandon Tanner, director of corporate partnerships for Special Olympics Southern California, accepted Bob’s Outreach donation during the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Murrieta, store.
Additionally, Bob’s Discount Furniture hosted two other grand opening celebrations at the new Escondido and Chula Vista store locations on Thursday. Bob’s Discount Furniture – is located at 1200 Auto Park Way in Escondido.
Bob’s Outreach Team also $15,000 to local schools during the store opening weekend. Escondido Charter High School’s assistant executive director, Deron Galindo accepted a $2,500 check.
This donation is part of a larger $142,000 donation being given out to local schools and charities across the country to commemorate the eight stores opening over Memorial Day weekend.
