Bette Cameron was born 2/8/26 in Horton, Kansas to Earl & Lydia Braley. She died peacefully October 18, 2020, one day before her 73rd wedding anniversary here on this earth.
Mrs. Cameron came to San Diego in 1945 where she met the love of her life at Quality Dairy and married Johnny Cameron soon after. Bette & John started their family, raising 4 daughters.
Mrs. Cameron’s life was very full with her active life in the church, Girl Scouts, cooking, family vacations, grandkids, great grandkids and so much more. After her daughters were pretty much grown she went to work for Twin Peaks Middle School as a health aide, retiring in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, sons-in-law Ken Pierce, Chris Russell and Tony Giacalone. She is survived by her children Sandi Giacalone, Leanne Russell, Carolyn and son-in-law Bruce Watson, Cathy Pierce. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Sara Coleman, Shelley Leymaster, Can Munaretto, Megan Giacalone, Angela Giacalone, Kristie Morrison, Jenny Hoffmann, Amber Sanders, Summer Pinzon, Forrest Pierce, Christopher Pierce, Matthew Pierce along with 30 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 16 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Escondido. All are welcome to attend. Masks are required and social distancing as called for by the state guidelines in place due to Covid.
