Bates’s Spring Festival to include vintage market, food truck festival and classic car show

The annual Spring Festival returns to Bates Nut Farm on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. This year’s festival includes an Arts, Crafts & Vintage Market on both Saturday and Sunday, the Spring Food Truck Festival on Saturday, and the Heartbeat Happening Classic Car Show on Sunday, along with many other family-friendly events.

At the Arts, Crafts & Vintage Market, numerous vendors will be on hand to showcase their upcycled, restored, vintage, antique and handmade wares. All of the handmade products are American made. The market runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to come early and enjoy breakfast on the farm from food trucks and other food vendors.

The Spring Food Truck Festival will take place on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Some of San Diego’s favorite food trucks will be at the farm to feed hungry shoppers with the best in mobile cuisine.  This spring’s food truck line-up includes Pomodoro Rosso, Haad Sai Thai, Cousins Maine Lobster, Eat Your Heart Out, Epic Eatz, Perky Beans, Danky Donuts, Marcel Waffles and Mariposa Ice Cream.  Marcel Waffles and Danky Donuts will be serving breakfast on Saturday morning, starting at 7:30.  There will be live music by the PleaZure Band on the Bates Stage from noon – 3 p.m.

Sunday, April 28 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. is the Heartbeat Happening Classic Car Show.  Organized by Heartbeat Classics Car Club, the show is open to all car makes & models from 1975 and earlier. The Valley Center Rotary Club will be serving an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast during the car show.  Breakfast is $7 for adults and $6 for children.  It includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee and orange juice.  Proceeds benefit local charities.

Snow’s Pony Rides and Petting Zoo, Kidz Zone and face painting will also be at the farm both Saturday and Sunday.  Details and schedule are found at
