Barbecue Tri Tip and Coleslaw



 

 

With the beginning of summer comes longer days, barbecue and more family and friend time. Let us not forget the brave men and women who gave given their lives in order for us to enjoy these long summer nights.

This past Memorial Day weekend has such an important meaning for our country. Our amazing military fight each and every day for our freedom, with some giving the ultimate sacrifice. I am thankful for each and

 

 

everyone one of our service members and am grateful for the men and women who have died fighting for our freedom we hold so dearly. Bless you and THANK YOU.

This weeks On The Menu is Barbeque Tri Tip and coleslaw.

Tri Tip marinade

1 2-3 lb tri tip
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup worcestershire sauce
4 garlic cloves minced
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 Tbl chili powder
Salt/pepper

Place all ingredients in a ziploc bag along with the tri

 

 

tip and marinade overnight. Take meat out to get to room temperature for one hour. Barbeque to your done preference. I like ours medium rare and will sear the meat on both sides on high heat and then put on indirect heat for 20 to 30 minutes on the grill. Slice thin and serve.

Coleslaw

5 cups Shredded cabbage
1 cup mayonnaise
1.2 cup sugar
2 Tbl celery seed
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Salt/pepper

Mix all ingredients together and serve. Enjoy your tasty treats!
