August 7 deadline for city candidates

The August 7 deadline for candidates to sign up for political office is looming. According to City Clerk Zack Beck. The following individuals have pulled nomination paperwork since last week: 

City Council District 3

  • Susan Reveles

City Council District 4

  • Andres Yanez

They join candidates who previously pulled nomination papers:

City Council District 2:

  • Tina Ostrem Inscoe
  • Rick Paul
  • Vanessa Valenzuela

City Council District 3:

  • Dara Czerwonka
  • Don Greene
  • Jose “Joe” Garcia

City Council District 4

  • Mike Morasco

City Treasurer

  • Doug Shultz

Candidates must submit their completed nomination paperwork to the City Clerk’s Office by August 7, 2020 at 5 p.m. However, if Councilmember Diaz does not file to run for re-election by the August 7, 2020 deadline, then the filing deadline for City Council District 3 is extended until August 12, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

  • David Drake, an engineer, small businessman, has filed intention to run.

Division 5

  • Incumbent Diana Towne has filed to run.

Trustee Area No. 3

  • Michelle Golding and Christi Knight have filed to run for a full term.

Trustee Area No. 4

  • Ogechi Okereke and Dane M. White have filed for this full term seat.

Escondido Union School

Trustee Area No. 5

  • Frank Huston has pulled papers to file.

Trustee Area No. 1

  • Incumbent Douglas Paulson has filed for office.

Trustee Area No. 3

  • Incumbent Joe Muga has filed to run for reelection.
