Arrest made in DUI related collison

A driver was arrested in a DUI-related collision on Monday.

On January 27, at about 1:22 a.m. a collision occurred at the intersection of Centre City Parkway & Country Club Lane.

Traffic officers have developed probable cause to arrest Gerardo Morales for felony DUI with injury. Morales is a 21-year-old resident of Vista. He was treated and released from the hospital and later booked into the Vista Detention Center. Morales is being charged with one count of DUI with injury, a felony.

The driver of the Kia had not been drinking and impairment was not a factor. The condition of the other passengers in Morales’s vehicle has been improved to stable condition. The traffic investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Officer Kyle Beierly of the Traffic Division.
