LEARN ABOUT STREET NAMES—Live in Valley Center? Curious about the name of the street on which you live?
The history and mystery behind local street names in Valley Center will be the topic of a talk on Saturday, January 24, at 10 a.m. at the Valley Center Branch Library.
Robert Lerner, historian at the Valley Center Historical Society, will reveal what’s behind such street names as The Yellow Brick Road, Highway to the Stars, and oddities such as MacTan Road. He will also answer audience questions about the name of the street on which they live.
The talk is part of the Coffee & Conversations series sponsored by Friends of the Library. The informal sessions are held around the library’s fireplace, and are open to the public. For more information, call 760-749- 1305.
