Home Firearm Safety/Basic Handgun Class —A monthly 3 hour familiarization and safety class is offered for anyone anticipating the purchase of, or who already own, a handgun. The class is offered Sunday, April 12 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Escondido Fish and Game Association shooting range east of Lake Wohlford. Participants learn the basics of handguns, home firearm safety and responsibility of firearm ownership. Handguns and ammunition are provided for the class but participants are encouraged to bring their own handgun if they already own one. The Escondido Fish and Game Association range is located at 16525 Guejito Road and Lake Wohlford Road. $60.00. To register for the class call Jack at 760-746-2868.

Wine & Craft Beer Tasting— Cruisin’ Grand’s 2015 season will begin in April, bringing one of America’s finest classic car cruises to Downtown Escondido every Friday night through September.

On Friday, April 10, from 5 – 8 p.m., the City of Escondido in partnership with Cruisin’ Grand, Ubiquitous Music and ArtHatch present a special wine and beer tasting on Maple Street Plaza featuring local wineries and craft breweries. As always, Cruisin’ Grand is a free event open to all ages. The wine and craft beer tasting area will be located on the north side of Maple Street Plaza where attendees age 21 and over can sample some of the region’s finest local wines and craft beers.
