John Abrams’ Animal Magic! This program from the Escondido Public Library’s Summer Reading Club will be held Thursday, July 30, 2–3 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. Abrams will bring the Grand Finale of the Summer Reading Program. Abrams always packs the house with his interactive animal magic show. This will be followed in August with Book Time with Ronald McDonald! Ronald combines music, magic, and games to demonstrate the fun of reading and the importance of exercising the mind and body for a healthy life. Sikes Adobe Historic Farmhouse is a visit to the past. Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead is a State Point of Interest and City of San Diego historic site in Escondido. The Farmhouse, (built around 1870), provides a unique opportunity to see what life was like in early San Diego settlements. Located at the Gateway to the San Pasqual Valley, right off the I-15 at Via Rancho Parkway at 12655 Sunset Drive in Escondido, the Farmhouse is open for docent-led tours: Sundays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. –1 p.m. A $3 donation per person is requested.
