Annual Spring Food Truck Festival at Bates April 27

The annual Spring Food Truck Festival takes place on Saturday, April 27, at Bates Nut Farm from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Many of San Diego’s favorite food trucks roll in to serve hungry festival goers delicious and unique mobile cuisine.  

This is part of the Spring Festival weekend at Bates Nut Farm that includes an Arts, Crafts and Vintage Market on Saturday and Sunday, and the Heartbeat Happening Classic Car Show on Sunday, April 28.

This Spring’s food truck line-up includes Pomodoro Rosso, Haad Sai Thai, Cousins Maine Lobster, Eat Your Heart Out, Epic Eatz, Perky Beans, Danky Donuts, Marcel Waffles and Mariposa Ice Cream.  Marcel Waffles and Danky Donuts will be serving breakfast on Saturday morning, starting at 7:30 a.m. 

Pomodoro Rosso serves Italian specialties that are all homemade, from meatballs and sauce to their bread.  Cousins Maine Lobster brings the Maine seafood experience to San Diego, serving lobster rolls, chowder, bisque and other East Coast seafood treats.  Eat Your Heart Out offers delicious, locally sourced cuisine that’s meant to be enjoyed with your hands.  Specialty tacos, sandwiches, quesadillas and potato bites are a few of their menu items.

San Diego Surf Cuisine from Epic Eatz, Thai favorites from Haad Sai Thai, decadent lattes from Perky Beans and good old-fashioned handmade ice cream from Mariposa Ice Cream round out the culinary offerings.  

Other food vendors are What’s Cookin’ BBQ, Country Cakes, Simply Dimples and Now You’re Poppin’.  Guests who are 21 and older can enjoy their food in the VC Optimist beer garden, where beer and wine will be offered for sale.   

Live music on the Bates Stage from the PleaZure Band will take place from noon– 3 p.m., along with Snow’s Pony Rides, petting zoo, and face painting. Admission and parking are free.
