Animal Antics at Escondido Library

With school back in session, now’s a great time to make sure your little critters are up to speed on their reading skills, and we have two exciting programs to nurture a natural love of reading!

The following activities are happening at Escondido Public Library.

• Reptile Round-Up!

1st and 3rd Wednesdays @ 3:30– 5:30 p.m.

Children’s Room, Ages 5–12

In this all-new program, children read out loud to lizards for fun or to help improve reading skills. Trained animal educators from Ecovivarium share interesting facts and lizard lore. Pre-registration is required, call 760 839-5456 to register. Children must know how to read.

• Love on a Leash, Paws for Reading

2nd and 4th Wednesdays (starting 9/2) at 3:30–4:30 p.m.

Children’s Room, Ages 5–12

Children read aloud to certified pet therapy dogs, for fun or to help improve their reading skills. Pre-Registration is required, call 760-839-5456 to register. Children must know how to read. Four new dogs just joined the group and are barking at the chance to help your young one read!
