A highlight of June events at Escondido Library

Escondido Public Library offers special events for adults during the month of June. All events are free, open to the public, sponsored by the Friends, and held in the Library’s Turrentine Room unless otherwise noted.
Death Café North County on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. Death Café provides a safe and agenda-free place to discuss death, dying, and end of life concerns, over coffee, tea, and tasty treats. Registration is encouraged at
Summer Reading Challenge All-Ages Kickoff —Outside Portico. Saturday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Register for the Challenge and receive free samples from Chick-Fil-A and Baltimore Snowball. Participants who complete the Summer Reading Challenge earn chances to win gift cards and the grand prize, a Kindle Fire.
Escondido Writers Group Open Mic on Saturday, June 16 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Writers of all genres are invited to participate in this special open mic event. Read your work to the audience and receive friendly critiques. Please arrive by 10:00 a.m. to secure a spot.
