The Escondido Sunrise Rotary’s / Palomar Health annual Grape Day 5k will be held the morning of Saturday, October 12 along Grand Ave. and the Historic Old Escondido Neighborhood and the ECCDC/Escondido East Rotary 9th Annual Tots ‘N Trucks will follow the 5K beginning at 9:30 am at Grape Day Park.

Use the code ESR10 for $10 off registration. “The Grape Day 5K is the only major fundraiser for the Escondido Sunrise Rotary- no funds benefit administration,” Jim Ponder, member of the Escondido Sunrise Rotary club told The Times-Advocate.
The funds raised will benefit the 5k Charity Partner, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, with a significant donation to allow for assistance with mobility, research into new therapies and to find a cure, and counseling and diagnosis assistance. Multiple Sclerosis is an unpredictable neurological disease that affects an estimated 400,000 people in the United States.
As the club’s largest fundraiser, the Escondido Sunrise Rotary will also be using the funds raised by the race for the 2019 / 2020 year to support the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego County, the YMCA, Holiday shopping for underprivileged youth in Escondido, Cabins in San Diego County for disabled including our wounded warriors, Project Mercy home building in Tijuana, Emergency support and disaster relief, Meals on Wheels for the Escondido area, North County Interfaith, among others.
