24 Hour Fitness opens new club at Westfield Mall

Twenty-Four Hour Fitness opened its 421st club Saturday at Westfield North County Mall with a ribbon cutting attended by Escondido May­or Sam Abed, Third District Super­visor Dave Roberts, Chamber of Commerce CEO Rorie Johnston and a host of other VIPs.

Southern California is prime real estate for 24 Fitness. More than half of its clubs are located n that part of the state. Its connection with Escon­dido is also longstanding. There has been a 24 Fitness in Escondido for over 30 years.

Other dignitaries attending were Kristen Steinke, board member, Es­condido Chamber of Commerce, Michael Morasco, deputy mayor and council member, Mayra Salzar, com­munity representative, Dave Rob­erts’s office, Ed Gallo, city council, John Masson, city council. There

were also representatives from Con­gressman Duncan Hunter’s office, Gregory Kogler, police captain, Bat­talion Chief John Tenger and Engine Company 1314 and Miss Teen Es­condido and the Escondido Princess.

The new 24 Hour Fitness is just the latest business to join the Westfield North County Mall, which recently completed a $55 million revitaliza­tion project. Boasting a robust retail, food and entertainment lineup, the new club adds a much-desired fitness lifestyle component to the shopping complex. The club’s address is 230 E. Via Rancho Pkwy., Suite 2001, Es­condido.

The celebration included club tours, prize drawings, group training demonstrations, innovative group ex­ercise studio classes and more.
