20,000 expected for July 4 festival and fireworks

Join 20,000 patriotic festival-goers for a day of rockin’ live music, tasty treats, and Fourth of July fun and games for all as Escondido turns out for the 54th annual Independence Day Festival and Fireworks at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido and nearby Grape Day Park.

After dark, turn your gaze to the sky for a dazzling fireworks display!

The Independence Day Festival & Fireworks is presented by the California Center for the Arts, Escondido and is sponsored by the Linden Root Dickinson Foundation and the City of Escondido.

This free event begins at 4 p.m.

This is either a “ticketless” free event, or an event where free tickets are handed out at the door — simply show up and enjoy. Premium options are available, including a VIP beer tasting area where you can sample beer flights for $10.

If the past is any predictor, about 20,000 people are expected for the festival, which features rockin’ live music by the Crown City Bombers, Brogue Wave, and Todo Mundo, food vendors, and a wealth of children’s activities and games for everyone to enjoy.

The day’s festivities will conclude with a special performance by Camp Pendleton’s 1st Marine Division Band and, of course, a dazzling fireworks display starting at 9 pm. You won’t want to miss this annual North County tradition!

VIP Beer Tasting

New this year, join the group from 4–9:00 pm for a VIP beer tasting experience with Stone Brewing Co., Karl Strauss Brewing Company, Coronado Brewing Co., and more. Enjoy exclusive acoustic performances by The Blue Diamond Special and The Fremonts, preferred stage viewing, shaded and air-conditioned areas, private restrooms, giant Jenga, corn hole games, and more.  The $10 entry includes four 4 oz. tasters to start you off.  Only the first 600 will get in, so get your tickets early.
