Join 20,000 patriotic festival-goers for the 52nd Annual Independence Day Festival & Fireworks. This free community event features rockin’ live music by Jimmy & Enrique, Mrs. Jones’ Revenge, and the Morgan Leigh Band, food vendors, and a wealth of children’s activities and games for everyone to enjoy.
The day’s festivities will conclude with a special performance by Camp Pendleton’s 1st Marine Division Band and, of course, a dazzling fireworks display! You won’t want to miss this annual North County tradition!
The day’s events begin at 4 p.m. with welcoming announcements by American Legion Post 149. Music begins at 4:45 p.m. with Jimmy & Enrique, followed by Mrs. Jones’ Revenge at 5:45 and the Morgan Leigh Band at 6:45 p.m. The Marine band will play at 8:05 p.m. and fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
Fun and games include free arts and crafts, face painting, caricatures and other activities including a water balloon toss, potato and sack race, hula hoop contest,watermelon eating contest, jump rope contest and bean bag toss.
You can visit the Escondido History Center from 4-7 p.m. for free and see YMCA baton twirlers from 7:30-8 p.m.
Escondido’s annual July 4th fireworks display in Grape Day Park has delighted young and old alike with its spectacular displays and wholesome family entertainment. It has become an intrinsic part of our shared community heritage and has been instrumental in encouraging patriotism and instilling a love of our great nation into the hearts of our children.
Pack a picnic; grab a blanket and head to Grape Day Park on July 4 for a fun-filled, star-spangled celebration!
The night will conclude with a special performance by the 1st Marine Division Band, and a dazzling fireworks display on the Center’s Great Green.
