Thursday afternoon’s 10th annual Community in United drive, in spite of having to take place with strict social distancing rules, was a marked success, according to Chris Cochran of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce: “I know that we brought in WAY over $2,000 in blankets, toys, and pajamas…and the benefiting charities were the Escondido Police Athletic League (toys), The Elizabeth Hospice (blankets), and the Ronald McDonald House via The Friends of Scott organization (pajamas),” he said.
The event took place at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido — Pajama and blanket donations were collected touch free at the Arrival Court off Escondido Blvd. Toys were also collected to benefit the Escondido Police Athletic League.
