Traffic enforcement focuses on distracted drivers

On February 7, Escondido Police officers conducted a special enforcement detail focusing on reducing distracted driving.  The EPD receives grant funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to conduct certain types of enforcement or educational activities to increase traffic safety.  During the detail, officers stopped a total of 59 vehicles and issued 44 traffic citations.
